A little more about them:
There is a little cottage near the seashore, painted white, with
sandswept grasses and puddle glass in the window panes. A sturdy picket
fence encircles the house, and on the lawn children play. Their sweet
laughter lingers in the damp, salty air. This is my home…and yours
while you visit here at Hazelnut Cottage.
With a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in graphic design and a Master’s of
Education in Teaching to guide her, Janice Avellana launched Hazelnut Cottage in 2007, when she melded her affinity for typography and a
yearning to connect meaningfully with others, into a singular passion.
The result: her line of soulful jewelry—and soon to come—art prints.
Deeply personal in nature, Jan’s creations are a form of therapy and
catharsis for this artist:
"…artmaking allows me to process the craziness of life, and i am
hopeful that these creations will somehow encourage others on their
journey. In the end, I am hoping that what moves me, stirs something in
you too."
