Jan Avellana, the artist at  Hazelnut Cottage, describes her jewelry line as having a “Modern French Farmhouse” feel.

The handstamped pieces are oxidized and texturized by hand to create a vintage feel, just for you. Whether it’s a vintage or handstamped piece, each is made with love, one by one, by hand.

Please visit Hazelnut Cottage and look around at either the etsy shop or the web site. You’ll find beautiful jewelry in either place! She has so many options I’m in awe. Each piece is really beautiful and a little different from others you’ve seen. Try to pick a favorite, then come back here and let me know what you chose.

    This artist seems to capture something for everyone. After taking a long look at all she has to offer, the Seafoam charm necklace really stood out for me for a few reasons.     gorgeous options. I fell in love with mama bird. My daughter will be 17 in a few months and is a great kid, full time college student already. When she was little (age 3) she started playing soccer and when she ran she would hold her arms like wings, hence the nickname bird. So mama bird is very appropriate and special.

    It is so hard to choose- I just love these. While I will eventually cave in and buy myself a necklace with my 3 sons’ names on it, I’d have to say that out of everything I saw on the website and etsy shop: the Beloved Necklace, Hand-stamped Jewelry, Oxidized Sterling Silver is my favorite.     They are all adorable. I think I like all of the one that have the single word – dream, beloved, faith, cherished, Mom. All of the little charms are so cute. I also loved Rose Charm. But I think if I absolutely had to pick a favorite, I would choose the I am Blessed that you are offering.

    I looked at everything, and yes they are so delicate and beautiful, what i LOVED most were her descriptions, for example..T H E M E A N I N G
    As family grows, you become close-knit; like peas in a pod. Mommy, Daddy, and babies who eventually grow up to have little “peas” of their own!
    I LOVE, LOVE, Love this!! My family will never be bigger than four so this is perfect!! The sweet pea, was one of my favorites, but I also LOVED the XOXO necklace…it is really hard to say what I liked more, may have to order both one day!!

    This was an extremely difficult decision. I am very drawn to the meaningful necklaces, like “Mercy and Grace”, “Fear Not” (awesome), and “Faith”. The sea-inspired collection is very nostalgic for me, though, so there’s some tough competition with “Blue Like Water” and “Let Love Be a Sea”. Then, I am all about my baby girl, so I love the “Mama Bird” necklace too! It comes down to whatever mood I happen to be in, but I think “Fear Not” and “Let Love…” would probably be the two I’d return to again and again. And I do consider myself tremendously blessed, so I’d love to win this!

    Just before my mamma left last April 28th, she introduced me to the attending doctor as: “This is my daughter, my blessing.” That was the first (and only) time Mamma ever referred to me that way, and a warmth filled my heart at that moment.

    The following Monday, April 28, she was gone. She died early in the morning of a most unusually beautiful and sunny spring day in this valley. The sky was the color of a robin’s egg.

    As my husband and I were walking back from the funeral home where we had gone to make arrangements, I spotted a tiny, fragile eggshell on the ground, the color of the sky.

    The “Robins Egg Blue Nest Necklace” would be a lovely reminder of Mamma, now almost a year gone. So would the “I Am Blessed” necklace.

    This year my birthday falls on Mother’s Day. What a lovely gift.

    The “I Am Blessed” necklace says it all to me,and it’s a beautiful item which illustrates that . The garnet stones add a nice “pop” to the necklace and if I would be fortunate enough to receive the necklace, no one would be able to pry that off of me.
